- I've been honored with a nomination to receive the Ernie Davis scholarship. In order to do this, one of my tasks was to spread the word of Ernie's legend. This blog's purpose is to not only spread the word through my teamates on the baseball diamond, which I do, but also to everyone, near and far. Obviously, the internet is capable of reaching anyone, and hopefully many will learn of Ernie's heroism.

I did not know that he chose Syracuse over Notre dame so that he could wear the #44. Did you know that the Cleveland Browns retired his #45 jersey and he never played a down of professional football and that Ernie Davis is the only player to be awarded this honor?
